Dr Godwin Maduka is an epitome of the category of people who have achieved greatness. Born into the Maduka family in Umuchukwu (formerly called Nkerehi), a small community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria, Godwin had his basic education in the country before moving to the United States of America where he studied Chemistry, Pharmacy and Medicine.

1984: He obtained Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from from Rust College, Holly Springs, Mississippi.

1988: Doctor of Pharmacy (Mercer University College of Pharmacy and  Health Science. In the year 1993, Godwin obtained Doctor of Medicine from University of Tennessee Health & science Center. Thereafter, he completed his residency and post graduate training at Havard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, USA. Dr Godwin Maduka is the founding CEO of Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center (the largest pain treatment center in Nevada, USA). He is  equally an Adjunct Professor of Pain Management/Anesthesiology at Touro University College of  Osteopathic Medicine, California, USA.

Being a natural philanthropist, the American-based billionaire has remained incessant in giving back to the society here in Nigeria. In his hometown, Umuchukwu, he has continued to embark on multiple community development projects year after year. Recently, The Executive Governor of  Anambra State, Willie Obiano commissioned  a medical research center which Dr Godwin erected in Umuchukwu (Anambra State). The skyscraper which reportedly cost about 3.1 billion naira will be modeled after the Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical center. The ultra-modern medical center is expected to be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities imported from India, to help in effective handling of life-threatening health conditions.

The medical center which will also be used to assist students in clinical training and will equally provide resource materials for lecturers and researchers. According to Sun newspaper, the medical center will serve as a temporary site for Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (former Anambra State University) College of Medicine.

Dr. Maduka is a recipient of the coveted and prestigious "Heart Beat of Africa" award. What a man he is!
