The Beautiful Hills Of Ohum: MOUNT CALVARY

The journey to the waterfall was adventure packed but then, i took special interest on our journey to the Beautiful Hills popularly known as Mount Calvary.  I won't say the journey to the hills was a tiring one, but we were exhausted along the way maybe because of the long walk to the waterfall, we got comfort
from the numerous green plants and tress housing different varieties of fruits ranging from cashew, mangoes and many more fruits we could barely identify which also provided shade throughout the walk.

As we walked through the bumpy roads leading to the hills, i took great notice of the sculptural works at different points, starting with a man washing his hands from a bowel held out by a servant and right in front of him was a man wearing thorns for a crown, being a Catholic it started making sense to me that it was Pilate washing his hands off Jesus case during his trials. Subsequent sculptural works followed making up the fourteen Stations Of The Cross from the Catholic doctrine.
On getting to the hill top, we were faced with Jesus crucified on the cross. Perhaps that was how it got the name mount cavalry, for me it was a spiritual exercise, i pondered on our Lord's long trek to the mountain with the heavy cross weighing him down and for a moment it gave me time think and i marveled at the great love God has for us. I had nothing on me but i was really exhausted from getting to the hill top not to imagine the one who bared the pain up to the top, (we should be grateful that God isn't man).

The hill top was a great sight to behold, we all stood and marveled at the beauty of mother nature.

We descended the hills and made it back to the road, well it's not yet time to go home because our body was so weak and needed refreshment, a little bar solved the problem as we sat down to plates of fufu with melon soup.
Ohum village gave us a treat, everything relating to food was very cheap, i couldn't believe the #50 banana and groundnut one of us bought, on getting to ninth mile hawkers were all over us, from the okpa sellers to madam taste and smile (eggroll seller who named her ware taste and smile) i bought taste and smile though i didn't smile after eating it, we also tasted the famous Enugu okpa, well the difference was clear.
It was a beautiful experience for us all, and we look forward to more fun filled adventures.
